Unilever Indonesia Books $451.8 M Profit After Ice Cream Business Spin-Off
Jakarta. Unilever Indonesia (IDX: UNVR) posted a net profit of Rp 7.6 trillion ($451.85 million) in 2025, soaring about 127% from Rp 3.3 trillion a year earlier, largely supported by gains from discontinued operations.
The company’s annual financial report showed profit for the year from discontinued operations reached Rp 309 billion, while gains from the sale of discontinued operations totaled Rp 3.79 trillion. Net profit from discontinued operations after tax stood at Rp 4.1 trillion, compared with Rp 3.5 trillion generated from continuing operations, bringing total profit to Rp 7.6 trillion.
As of Thursday at 10 a.m. local time, UNVR shares traded at Rp 2,300, up 40 points or 1.77%, moving within a range of Rp 2,290 to Rp 2,330. The company’s market capitalization reached Rp 87.74 trillion.
Management said that on March 19, 2024, parent company Unilever PLC announced a strategic move to separate its global ice cream business. The plan to spin off and sell the ice cream segment was approved at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on Jan. 14, 2025, and the business was effectively transferred to The Magnum Ice Cream Indonesia on Dec. 8, 2025.
As of Dec. 31, 2025, the ice cream segment was classified as discontinued operations. “The comparative statements of profit or loss and other comprehensive income for the year ended Dec. 31, 2024 have been restated to present discontinued operations separately from continuing operations,” the company said.
