UBS Sells Rp 86 Billion Worth of Bumi Resources Shares for Hedging Activity

Jakarta. Global investment bank UBS Group AG has offloaded part of its holdings in Bumi Resources, a coal miner under the Bakrie and Salim business groups, in a transaction valued at around Rp 86.28 billion ($5.2 million).

According to a disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Thursday, UBS sold 588.9 million shares of Bumi Resources on October 9, 2025, at an average price of Rp 146.52 per share.

“UBS sold the shares as part of its client derivative hedging activities,” said Irana Candra Mala, Bumi Resources’ Corporate Secretary, in the statement.

Following the sale, UBS’s ownership in Bumi Resources fell to 25.71 billion shares, equivalent to 6.92 percent, from around 26.3 billion shares or 7.08 percent before the transaction.

Despite the foreign sell-off, Bumi Resources’ shares gained 1.47 percent to Rp 138 per share during the first trading session on Thursday.
