Jakarta. Arsjad Rasjid, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), called on all members, including supporters of rival chairman Anindya Bakrie, to set aside differences and unify the organization.

In celebration of Kadin’s 56th anniversary on Sept. 24, Arsjad posted a two-minute video on Instagram, urging members to prioritize unity for the organization's future.

“This is not about me, this is not about Arsjad, this is not about Anin (Anindya Bakrie), this is not about power. This is about how Kadin can collaborate and unite as a strategic partner of the government in advancing Indonesia’s economy because there is only one Kadin Indonesia,” Arsjad said on Wednesday.

Economist Warns Dual Leadership of Kadin Could Confuse Investors

Kadin is currently experiencing a leadership divide, with Arsjad Rasjid serving as chairman until 2026, while Anindya Bakrie was appointed as chair for the 2024-2029 period through an extraordinary congress held on Sept. 14, 2024. Arsjad has denounced the congress as illegitimate, claiming support from 21 provincial chapters in opposing the unexpected leadership transition.

Despite ongoing legal proceedings, Arsjad emphasized the need for unity and collaboration in line with Kadin’s bylaws.

“The legal process continues, but we must also come together, put aside egos, and seek solutions in accordance with Kadin Indonesia’s regulations,” Arsjad said.

While acknowledging Kadin’s current challenges, Arsjad expressed optimism, noting the anniversary brought in well-wishes from small businesses, laborers, and large corporations, all hopeful for Kadin’s continued positive impact on the national economy.

Looking ahead, Arsjad reaffirmed Kadin’s commitment to helping Indonesia achieve 8 percent economic growth under Prabowo Subianto's leadership and reach the vision of a Golden Indonesia by 2045.
