Jakarta Leads Indonesia's Investment Rankings With $9.7 Billion in First Half
Jakarta. Jakarta attracted Rp 173.6 trillion ($9.7 billion) in investment during the first half of 2026, maintaining its position as Indonesia's largest investment destination, according to data from the Investment Ministry.
The total comprised Rp 106.5 trillion in domestic investment and Rp 67.1 trillion in foreign direct investment (FDI).
“This achievement shows that Jakarta remains Indonesia's leading investment destination,” Heru Hermawanto, head of Jakarta's Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency, said in a statement on Friday.
He attributed the continued inflow of investment to growing investor confidence and the Jakarta provincial government's efforts to improve the ease of doing business and public services.
During the second quarter alone, investment realization in the capital reached Rp 94.9 trillion ($5.3 billion), accounting for 18.5% of Indonesia's total investment realization.
Jakarta ranked first nationwide in domestic investment, attracting Rp 58.6 trillion, or 23.1% of total domestic investment nationwide.
Foreign direct investment reached Rp 36.3 trillion in the second quarter, making Jakarta the country's second-largest recipient of FDI with a 14.1% share of the national total.
For comparison, West Java ranked second nationally in the first half after attracting Rp 138.1 trillion in investment.
