Jakarta. Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2025 closed with a bang on Sunday after racking up $22.8 billion (Rp 376.2 trillion) in total transactions, far exceeding its initial target of $16.5 billion.

The five-day event, held from October 15–19 at ICE BSD, marked the 40th edition of TEI hosted by the Trade Ministry. The expo attracted 34,550 visitors from 131 countries and featured 1,619 exhibitors, both surpassing expectations.

“This year’s Trade Expo has been an extraordinary success,” Trade Minister Budi Santoso said during the closing ceremony. “The recorded transaction value as of 1 PM today reached $22.8 billion,  a new milestone for our export and investment achievements.”

According to the ministry, the transaction total included $17.9 billion from goods trade, $443.7 million from services, and $4.37 billion from investment deals.

Among the top-performing product categories were:

1. Mining products – $5.5 billion (Rp 92 trillion)
2. Precious metals – $7 billion (Rp 44.8 trillion)
3. Palm oil and derivatives – $2.3 billion (Rp 38.1 trillion)
4. Charcoal and briquettes – $1.6 billion (Rp 26.5 trillion)
5. Automotive parts – $1.4 billion (Rp 23.2 trillion)

Minister Budi highlighted that the results reflect Indonesia’s growing competitiveness in global markets, backed by strong natural resources and skilled human capital. “This achievement shows Indonesia’s capability to produce high-quality, sustainable products that meet global standards. We must continue to innovate, embrace digital transformation, and uphold sustainable business practices,” he noted.

The ministry said this year’s success also demonstrates the rebound of Indonesia’s export performance amid global economic uncertainties. Several major deals were secured with buyers from China, the United States, Japan, and Middle Eastern countries, indicating the country’s strengthening trade diversification strategy.

The next Trade Expo Indonesia is scheduled for October 14–18, 2026.
