Jakarta. Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Tuesday temporarily suspended trading of three stocks, property developer Triniti Dinamik (TRUE), hotel operator Pembangunan Graha Lestari Indah (PGLI), and construction material producer Agro Yasa Lestari (AYLS), as part of a cooling down measure to protect investors following a sharp cumulative price increase.

IDX’s Head of Trading Regulation and Operations Division, Pande Made Kusuma Ari A, said the suspension applies to both the regular and cash markets.

“The temporary suspension aims to provide market participants sufficient time to carefully consider available information before making investment decisions,” Pande said in a statement on Tuesday.

The suspension will remain in effect until further notice. IDX urged all related parties to closely monitor the companies’ public disclosures.

On Monday’s trading, TRUE shares soared 9.71 percent to close at Rp 113, up Rp 10 from Rp 103 a day earlier. PGLI saw the sharpest jump, skyrocketing 23.24 percent to Rp 350 from Rp 284. Meanwhile, AYLS also surged 10 percent to Rp 242, an increase of Rp 22 from its previous close at Rp 220.

Under IDX Regulation Number I-L of 2023, the exchange may suspend trading on certain stocks when there is a significant cumulative price increase or decrease that is not supported by adequate public information. Other common reasons for suspension include late financial reporting, lack of material disclosures, audit opinions with adverse or disclaimer status, or legal proceedings that may affect a company’s going concern. The cooling down mechanism allows time for the market to digest corporate information and reduce excessive trading driven by speculation rather than fundamentals.

For investors, a suspension means that the affected shares cannot be traded on the regular market until IDX lifts the restriction. This could temporarily lock in liquidity and expose investors to potential price corrections once trading resumes. The exchange reminds investors to always base their investment decisions on fundamental and publicly available information rather than speculative movements.
