IDX Gains in Early Trade, Led by Property and Bank Stocks

Jakarta. The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) advanced 37.2 points, or 0.47 percent, to 7,891.26 in the first trading session on Monday. The benchmark index moved in the green zone within a narrow range of 7,889 to 7,912.

Trading activity was relatively brisk early in the session. RTI Data showed that 1.17 billion shares changed hands with a transaction value of Rp 620.52 billion across 72,877 deals. Market breadth leaned positive, with 334 stocks rising, 96 declining, and 215 remaining flat.

Several stocks made it to the top gainers list. Pembangunan Graha Lestari Indah (PGLI) led the rally, soaring 24.6 percent to reach its auto rejection up (ARA) cap. Other gainers included Wulandari Bangun Laksana (BSBK), up 15.73 percent, Bank Mayapada Internasional (MAYA), rising 7.46 percent, Alfa Energi Investama (FIRE), which gained 7.07 percent, and Widianto Jaya Krenindo (WIDI), advancing 6.12 percent.

Across the region, Asia-Pacific markets opened mixed as investors monitored talks between the United States and China in Spain and awaited key economic data from Beijing. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.9 percent to a fresh record, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng jumped 1.2 percent.

On Wall Street, major indexes closed mostly lower on Friday (Sept. 12). The S&P 500 slipped marginally, down less than 0.1 percent from its record high a day earlier. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 273 points, or 0.6 percent, while the Nasdaq composite gained 0.4 percent to notch another record close.
