BBN Airlines Secures Permit for Passenger Operations in Indonesia
Jakarta. BBN Airlines Indonesia, a subsidiary of Dublin-based Avia Solutions Group, announced on Monday that it has obtained the air operator certificate from the government, allowing it to commence passenger operations in Indonesia.
The certificate, issued by the Transportation Ministry’s Civil Aviation Directorate General, confirms that BBN Airlines has “met the regulatory standards to operate commercial passenger services,” with operations set to begin later this month, according to Martynas Grigas, Chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia.
“This achievement highlights our unwavering dedication to providing safe, reliable, and efficient air travel services, reinforcing our position as a leading provider of aviation solutions tailored to the diverse needs of the Indonesian public,” Martynas stated in a press release.
Established in August 2022 as a cargo airline specializing in aircraft leasing, air charter flights, and air freight services, BBN Airlines Indonesia currently operates a fleet that includes three Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft for passenger services, along with two Boeing 737-800 BCFs and a Boeing 737-400 SFs for cargo services.
The issuance of the permit comes as Indonesia approaches another holiday season, where tens of millions of people are expected to travel during the Ramadan exodus.
Martynas mentioned that BBN Airlines is exploring the possibility of serving international routes from Indonesia, responding to increasing demands from India and China.
BBN Airlines Indonesia has set an ambitious goal to operate 40 aircraft by 2027 to meet the growing demand in air transportation, he added.
