BBN Airlines Indonesia Makes Its First Landing at Ngurah Rai Airport
Bali. BBN Airlines Indonesia has added scheduled flights from Jakarta to Bali with its inaugural landing at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on Wednesday.
The Boeing 737-800 plane of Indonesia's newest commercial airline carried 92 passengers as it landed at 10:43 a.m. local time in Bali and flew back to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport around an hour later with 34 passengers on board.
Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, General Manager of the Bali Airport, congratulated the airline on its successful first flight.
“On behalf of all InJourney Airports personnel at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, we congratulate BBN Airlines Indonesia on its maiden operation on the island of Bali,” he said.
Blue Bird Nordic (BBN) Airlines Indonesia is a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, one of the largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, Insurance) companies in the world. BBN Airlines was established in Jakarta in August 2022.
From 2024 until September, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has served 3.7 million passengers flying between Bali and Jakarta, accounting for 49 percent of the total number of domestic passengers.
The inclusion of BBN Airlines adds the total number of airlines flying to and from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to 52.
The airport currently serves 22 domestic flights with 12 airlines. BBN Airlines became the fourth airline to start operating at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in 2024.
Other airlines that debuted at the airport this year included IndiGo with flights from Bengaluru starting from March 29, Etihad Airlines with Abu Dhabi-Bali flights from June 26, and Aeroflot with flights from Moscow starting on September 17.
