Jakarta. Gold prices at state-owned miner Aneka Tambang surged to a new record on Wednesday, with Antam bullion jumping Rp 29,000 to Rp 2,590,000 ($154.53) per gram as the rally showed no signs of cooling.

Data from the Logam Mulia website showed Antam gold had already set a previous all-time high a day earlier, after prices spiked Rp 59,000 to Rp 2,561,000 per gram on Tuesday.

The buyback price also climbed sharply on Wednesday, rising Rp 29,000 to Rp 2,449,000 per gram.

The domestic surge tracked strength in the international gold market, where prices extended their rally and broke above the $4,500 level following the release of US economic growth data for the third quarter of 2025. The price of gold per ounce is recorded at $4,494.5 rose 61.20 points or 1.38% as of Dec. 23, 2025 at 10.36 New York time.

According to Kitco, the US economy posted stronger-than-expected momentum between July and September, reinforcing market attention on macroeconomic signals.

The Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that US gross domestic product grew 4.3% in the third quarter of 2025, accelerating from 3.8% in the previous quarter. The expansion was driven by stronger consumer spending, exports, and government expenditure, partly offset by a decline in investment, while imports, a subtraction in GDP calculations, also fell.

Compared with the second quarter, the faster pace of growth reflected a smaller drag from investment, quicker consumer spending, and higher exports and government outlays, even as imports declined at a slower rate.

The third-quarter GDP release replaced earlier estimates that were postponed due to a recent US government shutdown.
