Another Chinese Car Brand Uses Assembly Plant in Bekasi

Jakarta. Jetour becomes the latest Chinese carmaker to use an assembly plant in Bekasi, West Java, to ensure supplies in the Indonesian market.

The facility, owned by local company Handal Indonesia Motor, began assembling the Jetour Dashing and Jetour X70 Plus SUV models on Wednesday using components entirely sent from China.

During a ceremony marking the inaugural production in Indonesia, Jetour Motor Indonesia CEO Jacky Yang said the Chinese auto company is committed to delivering high-quality products to the Indonesian market and contributing to the national auto industry.

“We are confident the Jetour Dashing and Jetour X70 Plus will be welcomed by Indonesian consumers,” Jacky said.

Handal Indonesia Motor previously facilitated the assembly of other Chinese brands such as Chery Omoda, Chery Tiggo, Neta X, Neta V-II, and Neta-V. 

Located just east of Jakarta, Bekasi is home to several assembly plants operated by major Chinese carmakers including Wuling and MG, both also build their electric vehicle models in the regency.
