Jakarta. State-owned agriculture company Agrinas Pangan Nusantara has disbursed around Rp 90 trillion ($5.35 billion) from a total of Rp 200 trillion in funding allocated for the development of the Red and White Village Cooperatives (Kopdes Merah Putih), its president director Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota said on Tuesday.

Joao explained that Agrinas was appointed to lead the program in October 2025 following an agreement among four ministers. The company subsequently secured Rp 200 trillion in financing support from state-owned banks to execute the project.

“We received Rp 200 trillion in funding from state banks for procurement. As of today, we have spent approximately Rp 90 trillion,” Joao said during a press conference at Agrinas’ office.

The funds have been used to procure facilities and infrastructure, including operational vehicles, as well as to build physical cooperative outlets across various regions. The spending also covers the import of 105,000 pickup trucks from India.

Agrinas aims to complete 80,000 rural cooperatives by the end of 2026. So far, 1,357 units have been completed, while another 30,500 units are in the final stages of construction.

Although progress has yet to reach half of the overall target, Joao expressed confidence that the goal remains achievable. Each cooperative unit is designed to be completed within 92 days, or roughly three months. If land availability can be secured by May at the latest, construction can still be accelerated to meet the deadline.

“I am very optimistic and confident that we will complete all 80,000 Merah Putih Village Cooperatives before the end of 2026. If land is made available promptly, I believe we can finish at least 60,000 units by the end of August,” he said.

Joao also urged regional administrations and landowners to coordinate swiftly with village heads and relevant authorities to expedite the rollout of the cooperatives in their respective areas.
