Idul Fitri at Sunda Kelapa Port
Jakarta. North Jakarta residents have gathered at Al-Bahrain Mosque inside Batavia's Sunda Kelapa Port on Thursday morning for a mass prayer to celebrate Idul Fitri, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
People started gathering in front of Al-Bahrain Mosque at 6.00 a.m. Some residents came on foot while others arrived on motorbikes or wooden boats to attend the annual prayer.
The mosque's Imam appealed to the congregation to keep wearing masks, maintain physical distance, and avoid physical contact after prayer due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, the imam cut the sermon short to avoid crowds in the mosque area.
