Jakarta. MG Motor Indonesia has launched its limited-run MG4 EV Max at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, offering one of the longest ranges in the country’s compact EV segment at up to 540 kilometers on a single charge.

“Indonesia is one of MG’s key markets. The launch of the MG4 EV Max is not just about adding a product but advancing toward a future of smart, enjoyable, and sustainable mobility,” Jason Huang, CEO of MG Motor Indonesia, said at the launch event on Wednesday.

The MG4 EV Max is equipped with a 64 kWh battery paired with a 203 PS rear-wheel-drive electric motor, delivering instant acceleration and agile handling supported by a 50:50 weight distribution. The vehicle supports fast DC charging up to 144 kW and AC charging at 7 kW and comes with a three-mode Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) to enhance daily efficiency. MG said the battery system has undergone extreme condition testing to ensure durability and safety.

Inside, the MG4 EV Max features a modern cabin with a 7-inch digital instrument panel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charging tray. The car also offers i-SMART technology for smartphone-based vehicle control and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing the car to power external devices.

For safety, the MG4 EV Max is equipped with a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic emergency braking. Externally, the vehicle sports aggressive LED headlights with wing-shaped DRLs, a closed-off EV grille, and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels.

Priced at Rp 419 million ($25,700) during GIIAS 2025, the MG4 EV Max is limited to just 100 units. MG is also offering a zero-percent installment plan for two years, one year of free insurance, and three years of free charging vouchers to boost its competitiveness in Indonesia’s growing EV market.

The launch coincides with the introduction of a new Beige Pearl color variant of the MG Cyberster with a red roof, showcased at ICE BSD City from July 24 to August 3, 2025, as MG seeks to strengthen its EV offerings in Southeast Asia’s largest automotive market.
