DGVeRS 2025 Highlights Push for Trusted Digital Ecosystem
Jakarta. DGVeRS 2025 opened its first plenary session on Friday at Senayan Park with a discussion on how Indonesia can advance digital connectivity to unify the nation and extend its reach globally.
Agung Prasetya, General Manager for Mobile and Value Added Product Development at Telkomsel, underscored the importance of faster and more reliable internet. He highlighted Telkomsel’s aspiration to provide a minimum speed of 100 Mbps, similar to China’s standard, while also ensuring subscribers gain access to AI-driven services that simplify daily life. “Stable internet and accessible AI will be the foundation of a truly connected Indonesia,” Agung said.
From the energy sector, PLN Icon Plus emphasized its ambition to narrow the digital divide. Director of Planning and Development Aditya Syarief Darmasetiawan revealed that the company is exploring collaborations with firms such as Telkomsel and sovereign wealth fund Danantara to deliver internet to Indonesia’s most remote areas.
“PLN has already connected 17,000 villages with internet. To meet the country’s growing demand, partnerships are essential,” Aditya explained.
Representing the government, Wijaya Kusumawardhana, Expert Staff to the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, reaffirmed the state’s commitment to expanding inclusive internet access under the policy of Digital Transformation Strengthening and the Asta Cita program. He outlined three guiding principles: inclusivity, empowerment, and sovereignty.
“Connectivity must be for all, empowering the ecosystem, and ensuring trust and sovereignty,” Wijaya said, stressing the urgency of curbing online gambling, pornography, scams, and other forms of digital crime.
The session set the tone for Indonesia’s digital future, with public and private stakeholders aligned on expanding coverage, building trust, and ensuring that the nation’s digital transformation remains both inclusive and sovereign.
