Vivin Harsanto: Advancing Indonesia’s Property Sector with Visionary Leadership
Jakarta. The property sector holds a strategic role in driving national investment and economic growth, according to Vivin Harsanto, the executive director and the head of growth of the real estate services giant JLL Indonesia.
Vivin sees the national property market holding steady on strong fundamentals, even with all the global headwinds we're facing right now. Property investors remain interested in Indonesia thanks to its large population, urbanization that's still picking up pace, and an economy that's holding its ground.
"Indonesia's property sector has real long-term potential. Sure, we'll see ups and downs – that's just how markets work – but the fundamentals point toward growth over time. It creates space for investors to make smart moves with their portfolios while backing the country's development story," Vivin said.
JLL’s operations in Indonesia as a property consultant have spanned over 45 years. Vivin restated the company’s commitment to serve the clients with end-to-end services, starting from market research, land acquisition, and marketing to property management.
“We believe that a consultant’s role is not only to provide business solutions, but also to create a bigger positive impact on the community,” Vivin said.
Career Journey and Leadership
Vivin studied at Parahyangan Catholic University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. She subsequently earned her master’s degree in real estate and construction at the University of Denver. Vivin has always been in the property industry from the get-go. Her love for the construction world has motivated her to create something that benefits everyone.
“I’m most proud if a project that we work on is not only beneficial financially, but also brings added value for the local communities,” Vivin said.
According to Vivin, any leadership in the property industry must combine integrity, vision, and wisdom. She admitted to having been inspired by visionary individuals with strong leadership and vast knowledge. She has even kept these principles in mind when leading cross-generational teams at JLL as she pursues an agile and relevant corporate culture.
Challenges and Hopes for the Future
Despite the significant opportunities, Vivin considers human capital development as the industry’s main challenge.
“Our business is service-based, and that puts people as our biggest asset. We need to make sure that our team stays adaptive and collaborative, so they can give solutions with added value to the clients,” Vivin said.
To Vivin, the right human capital development can make Indonesia a key player in the global property industry.
2025 PropertyGuru Indonesia Property Awards
Vivin is a judge at the prestigious 2025 PropertyGuru Indonesia Property Awards. Her participation shows her commitment to driving the quality standards and innovation in the property sector. This event not only recognizes the top developers but also seeks to boost investor confidence in Indonesia.
“Property Awards is an important platform to show the world that Indonesia has high quality and competitiveness. As part of the industry, I’m proud to be able to contribute to this process,” she said.
Looking Ahead
Outside her career, Vivin spends her time traveling -- a hobby that she believes can bring her new perspectives both personally and professionally.
“Traveling always gives me fresh perspectives that will eventually enrich my leadership and decision-making,” Vivin said.
By combining global experience, visionary leadership, and concern for the local communities, Vivin has become a key figure in shaping a more sustainable, inclusive, competitive property industry in Indonesia.
