Thousands Join Indomaret Run in PIK 2
Jakarta. The 2025 Indomaret Run attracted thousands of people over the weekend.
The minimarket Indomaret hosted a running event in PIK 2 on Sunday. Participants, some coming from West Java's Bekasi, even woke up as early as 3 a.m. to join the event that had three categories (5k, 10k, and 21k or half-marathon. Indomaret also involved professional athletes in selecting the routes to make sure that they are safe and sterile.
"We wish to help people break their best records. We chose PIK 2 because of its well-maintained and excellent road quality, making it a safe running path," Indomarco Prismatama (Indomaret) marketing manager Robin Maclean was quoted as saying in a press statement.
Veddy, the race director of IRace Indonesia, said that the 2025 Indomaret Run was an example of a professionally managed running event.
"Everything has been meticulously prepared, starting from the location, route, to the technical aspects such as the water stations and medical facilities. ... It has helped runners achieve their best time, while also having an enjoyable experience," Veddy said.
Indomaret Run is also expected to return next year.
"We are also committed to providing an even better experience, with a new route and continuously improved facilities," Robin said.
He added: "This event reflects Indomaret's contribution as a brand closely connected to the lives of Indonesians in fostering a culture of healthy living. This isn't just a running event, but a collaborative movement to encourage better habits."
