The Palace Jeweler Launches “Bangga BerNusantara” Campaign to Celebrate Independence Day and Preserve Culture
Jakarta. In celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, The Palace Jeweler, as the national jeweler of Indonesia, reaffirms its commitment to preserving the nation’s cultural heritage through the Bangga BerNusantara campaign.
This campaign invites all Indonesians to celebrate Independence Day in a unique and meaningful way, one of which is by wearing traditional attire from August 16–18, at all The Palace Jeweler stores.
The Bangga BerNusantara campaign serves as a momentum for The Palace Jeweler to showcase its consistency in providing access to quality jewelry while also being a platform for cultural preservation. It proves that cultural preservation can be applied in various forms, including through everyday fashion that highlights the richness of Nusantara’s textile heritage.
Jelita Setifa, General Manager of The Palace Jeweler, explained that the Bangga BerNusantara campaign was first introduced in 2024 and received positive responses from jewelry enthusiasts across Indonesia, as reflected in the high participation of visitors wearing traditional attire at The Palace Jeweler stores nationwide.
“We believe that culture is an inseparable part of a nation’s identity. With the ‘Bangga BerNusantara’ campaign, we want to encourage Indonesians not only to feel proud but also to actively preserve cultural heritage in ways that are relevant and modern,” she said.
According to her, the campaign had already been held in 2024 and was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from the Indonesian public.
“We truly appreciate every customer who participated and celebrated independence with the sparkle of our diamonds, as every piece of jewelry we create is also a reflection of Nusantara’s richness,” she added.
As part of this campaign, The Palace Jeweler offers a variety of special rewards. Customers wearing Nusantara traditional attire at The Palace stores are entitled to up to 45% discounts on gold jewelry. Additionally, five lucky customers in traditional attire can join a photo challenge to win a diamond pendant by uploading their photos on social media.
In particular, those with unique names such as Nusa, Anta, Tara, or Nusantara will receive shopping vouchers of up to IDR 800,000 and a chance to win a free diamond pendant. There is also a special prize of free gold pendants for the first 80 people named “Nusantara” across Indonesia. Various in-store activities are also prepared to enliven the celebration, such as best-dress announcements, Nusantara culinary treats, games, and other exciting prizes.
The Bangga BerNusantara campaign is The Palace Jeweler’s tribute to unite the spirit of independence with cultural richness, reminding us that every sparkling jewel is inseparable from the grand story of the nation.
About The Palace Jeweler’s Nusantara Collection
As its name suggests, the Nusantara Collection is deeply rooted in Indonesian culture and identity. The collection is the result of a collaboration between The Palace Jeweler and Indonesia’s fashion maestro, Samuel Wattimena.
Driven by the spirit and vision of preserving Indonesian culture through jewelry design, this collaboration began in 2015 and produced the first Nusantara Collection launched in 2017. Indonesia’s cultural wealth, reflected in its diverse traditional attire, celebrations, and jewelry, is showcased in three series of the collection: Nusa, Anta, and Tara.
Nusa Series
The Nusa diamond jewelry represents Western Indonesia and is inspired by the Pending silhouette, once worn by kings and queens as waist ornaments. Samuel Wattimena transformed this silhouette into diamond rings, necklaces, and earrings, creating pieces that are unique, elegant, and luxurious.
Anta Series
Inspired by Central Indonesia, particularly East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), the Anta series highlights silhouettes of Mamoli, Taka, and Marangga jewelry. Each silhouette is reinterpreted into distinct diamond jewelry designs while retaining the essence of these traditional Eastern ornaments.
Tara Series
The Tara series draws inspiration from Eastern Indonesia, specifically from ornaments such as Mas Bulan Base, Belak, and Pepek Sortil. Its uniqueness lies in its sun motifs, reflecting Eastern Indonesians’ reverence for the sun. Circular motifs are thus emphasized in the Tara diamond jewelry series.
