Jakarta. Coal logistics company RMK Energy or RMKE announced Friday that they had started to book revenue from their new hauling road facility.

The company has constructed a coal hauling road integrated with a loading station at Gunung Megang. This infrastructure allows RMKE to provide seamless coal logistics services across the value chain. This combustible black rock get loaded at Kramasan Musi 2 Port. The road is connected to two new mines: Wiraduta Sejahtera Langgeng (WSL) and Duta Bara Utama (DBU).

By June 2025, RMKE had loaded a total of 3.7 million tons of coal, including an additional 268,000 tons from new customers that are now connected to the coal hauling road. This demonstrates the company's ability to maintain service volumes despite declining global demand and prices.

The coal sales segment, however, is facing some challenges, which the company attributed to a decline in volumes and price. By June 2025, RMKE sold 428,600 tons of coal. Coal sales prices also declined by 6.6 percent year-on-year (yoy).

The weakening sales segment had led to a 53.5 percent drop in overall operating revenue. However, service revenue grew 3.5 percent yoy. RMKE recorded Rp 146.5 billion ($8.8 million), of which 75.2 percent came from services. RMKE also posted Rp 87.6 billion in net profit, thereby reflecting the company's ability to maintain profitability amidst challenging market conditions.

The 4.2 percent equity growth was driven by margin improvement, which maintained the company's financial health. RMKE maintained a Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER) of 0.16 times, with a 34.3% reduction in financial debt, underscoring the company's commitment to financial stability.

"Although the coal market is facing significant challenges, RMKE remains focused on optimizing operations and diversifying revenue. Our ability to maintain strong financial ratios, increase service revenue, and achieve operational efficiency demonstrates our commitment to delivering value to our stakeholders, even in challenging conditions," RMKE's president director Vincent Saputra said.

"With the completion of this coal hauling road facility, which will connect to several potential mines in South Sumatra, we remain optimistic that RMKE's performance will continue to grow," Vincent said.

He added, "RMKE will remain committed to leveraging its operational strengths and financial discipline to navigate challenging market conditions. The company will continue to focus on developing its service segment and exploring new opportunities to drive sustainable growth in the coal sales and services segment."
