Jakarta. State-run construction firm PTPP recently set a national record for constructing Indonesia's first building with building photovoltaic-integrated photovoltaics (BPIVs) at Bank Indonesia's building at the new capital Nusantara.

PTPP received the Indonesian World Records Museum Award (MURI) at 2025 PP Awards.

PTPP has installed BIPVs onto Bank Indonesia building's roofs. The glasses on these roofs do not serve as architectural elements, but can also absorb solar power to generate energy. The BIPV also serves as a thermal isolation, thus reducing the cooler's burden and cutting emissions. Integrating BIPVs into the architecture creates the perfect harmony between aesthetics, function, and sustainability.

According to PTPP's corporate secretary Joko Raharjo, the BIPV technology represents the company's commitment to sustainability.

"BIPV is an innovation that answers the challenges of future energy. It also strengthens PTPP's position as a pioneer of sustainable construction," Joko said.

PTPP has previously won several MURI awards.

In 2023, PTPP set three MURI records, including a shooting range with the highest elevation in a building at the Attorney General's Office. It also set a record for the fastest toll road work in a slab pile for the Semarang-Demak Toll Road. The same project also set a national record for being the toll road work with the most pre-fabricated vertical drains.

2025 PP Awards
The 2025 PP Awards embraced the theme "Creating Value to Enhance the Core". As the name suggests, it calls on PTPP employees to uphold innovation and collaboration to create a real impact. The annual event also saw the employees taking part in various categories, ranging from business excellence, value creation in business, construction technology, and many more. This year, PTPP's employees submitted 537 works to join the competition.

PTPP's president director Novel Arsyad, said that the submitted works all were not just an idea on paper, but had the potential to have a real impact on the company while also embracing good project governance.

"Keep on going forward. Don't stop innovating. Make what you have achieved a motivation for you to bring new works that can bring a positive impact, not just for PTPP, but also something that contributes to the national development," Novel told the 2025 PP Awards winners.
