PTPP Reaffirms Commitment to Green Construction
Jakarta. State construction firm PTPP reaffirmed its commitment to green construction and energy efficiency as it participates in national strategic projects.
The company sought to become a pioneer in environmentally friendly development in Indonesia. According to PTPP corporate secretary Joko Raharjo, the company not only takes into account physical infrastructure, but also ecological and social responsibility aspects.
“PTPP is not just building infrastructure, but also a greener, more efficient, and more sustainable future. We are committed to making every project a manifestation of sustainable development that has a real impact on the environment and society,” Joko said in a statement.
PTPP has implemented green building and energy efficiency concepts in its projects. This includes the Mandiri IT Building, BRI Tower, Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Kulonprogo, JSI Sunter, the Singapore Embassy in Jakarta, the Public Works Ministry, and other environmentally friendly projects in the future national capital, Nusantara. These projects use recycled materials, energy-efficient lighting systems, and water recycling systems, among others. It also uses building information modeling (BIM) to optimize resource use and reduce carbon footprints.
"Green transformation is no longer an option, but a necessity. We want to ensure that every development undertaken by PTPP provides long-term benefits, not only economically, but also for the environment and future generations," Joko said.
PTPP has also partnered with construction technology startups and national universities to develop research related to energy efficiency, smart building management, and environmentally friendly technologies. This collaboration demonstrates PTPP's commitment to accelerating the adoption of green technology in the Indonesian construction sector.
These steps align with the government’s Asta Cita goals, particularly regarding strengthening economic resilience and environmental sustainability. The company also seeks to support Indonesia’s goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2060 by striking a balance between development and environmental preservation.
