Jakarta. Plataran Menjangan recently received the 2024 ASEAN Green Hotels Award.

The accolade, which was announced at the 2024 ASEAN Tourism Awards, recognized Plataran Menjangan's environmentally sustainable practices, including its Plataran for the Earth program.

“We are honored to be nominated alongside distinguished properties such as Nihi Sumba and Capella Ubud in the ASEAN Tourism Awards 2024. Now, we invite you to experience the captivating beauty and eco-conscious hospitality of Plataran Menjangan firsthand,”  a recent press statement reads.

As part of the Plataran for the Earth program, the hotel has made efforts to reduce its carbon emissions. It is also actively planting trees, implementing wastewater treatment, and minimizing plastic use, among others. Plataran Menjangan, which lies within the 382-hectare sanctuary of the West Bali National Park, also lets guests contribute to the sustainability efforts by having a tree planted in their name after each stay. This is in line with what Plataran Indonesia is aiming for, namely to deliver #HospitalitywithImpact.

Plataran was also the official partner of the G20 when Indonesia presided over the group of wealthy nations in 2022.

The formal ratification of the Towards Net Zero Declaration, orchestrated by the Tourism Ministry, alongside five distinguished Indonesian pilot project destinations, transpired at Plataran Menjangan. Plataran also became one of the specially appointed pilot projects as the hospitality giant takes pride in its steadfast support for carbon offsetting measures.
