Jakarta. In celebration of the importance of education for children in schools participating in the Learning Lamp Program, the Yayasan Indonesia Sejahtera Barokah (YISB) held the Jakarta Light Festival on Saturday (Oct. 26, 2024) at Balai Sarbini, Jakarta.

The event, attended by around 1,400 participants, including students and teachers from 10 schools in Jakarta under the Hang Tuah Foundation and others, was filled with a spirit of learning, inspiration, and togetherness in a joyful atmosphere.

The Jakarta Light Festival is part of Yayasan Indonesia Sejahtera Barokah's efforts to support the advancement of education in Indonesia through engaging in educational activities. This event was organized in collaboration with UBS Gold as the main supporter, along with the Hang Tuah Foundation and the restaurant chain Bakmi GM, as a shared commitment to improving educational quality.

The Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Hang Tuah Foundation, Ketty Erwin S. Aldedharma, expressed her appreciation for the Jakarta Light Festival, which collaborated with various parties.

"This Jakarta Light Festival is an annual event organized by Yayasan Indonesia Sejahtera Barokah. This year, we collaborated with Hang Tuah, UBS Gold, and Bakmi GM. This activity not only includes educational elements but is also wrapped in a fun and engaging manner, so the children really enjoy today’s activities," she said.

Ketty added that as part of the Learning Lamp education program, this activity is expected to expand its reach and provide a positive impact on elementary school students, especially in learning mathematics. Currently, the Learning Lamp program has been implemented in eight elementary schools under the Hang Tuah Foundation in Jakarta, focusing on students in grades 1, 2, and 3. The plan is to expand this collaboration to other schools outside Jakarta, including Surabaya and other cities.

"This Learning Lamp program is designed for elementary school-aged children, with special mathematics material adapted from the Singapore curriculum. This program is excellent because it not only teaches learning material but also enhances children's critical thinking skills. This is important to prepare them for a better future," she added.

Ketty said she hopes that collaboration from all parties through this event will continue.

"It is hoped that this collaboration can persist and hopefully be implemented in other Hang Tuah schools, not just the eight schools. May this support the teaching at the Hang Tuah Foundation and other schools to contribute to achieving Indonesia Gold 2045," she concluded.
