ITSEC Asia Opens Southeast Asia’s Largest Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Event
Jakarta. PT ITSEC Asia Tbk (IDX: CYBR), Indonesia’s leading cybersecurity company, on Tuesday opened the ITSEC: Cybersecurity Summit 2025, a three-day event taking place from August 26 to 28 in Jakarta.
Billed as the largest critical infrastructure cybersecurity event in Southeast Asia, the summit gathers more than 1,000 participants, including policymakers, industry leaders, and global experts, to address rising digital threats across the region. The program features over 40 sessions, from keynote addresses and panel discussions to expert presentations.
Partners from leading global cybersecurity firms --including Aikido, Mimecast, Segura, BlackDuck, Promon, SOCRadar, Vicarius, Google Cloud, Fortinet, Lucy Security, and Securonix-- are sharing strategies on safeguarding critical infrastructure against increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks.
“Through the Cybersecurity Summit 2025, our goal is to strengthen Indonesia’s defenses by raising industry and public awareness while connecting them with world-class experts,” said Patrick Dannacher, President Director of ITSEC Asia.
“As critical infrastructure becomes more connected and vulnerable, strong regional cooperation, knowledge exchange, and trusted standards are essential.”
Eko Indrajit, President Commissioner of ITSEC Asia, added: “ITSEC Asia is committed to placing Indonesia at the forefront of global cybersecurity. This summit strengthens national resilience, builds trust in digital transformation, and positions Indonesia as a secure and trusted digital hub in Southeast Asia.”
Slamet Aji Pamungkas, Deputy for Cybersecurity and Cryptography in the Economic Sector at the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), underlined the need for broader awareness and capacity building.
“Cyber resilience is a shared responsibility. This summit is a vital platform to exchange knowledge, build stronger defenses, and ensure our infrastructure remains resilient against risks,” he said.
Sri Yanto, Director General of Defense Potential at the Defense Ministry, highlighted the strategic importance: “Critical infrastructure is the heart of a nation’s sovereignty. Through government–industry partnerships like ITSEC Asia, Indonesia can better secure its digital ecosystem against evolving threats.”
The summit agenda covers advanced topics such as quantum cryptography, cybersecurity in medical systems, real-world malware cases targeting cruise ship control systems, and the business impact of virtual CISO (v-CISO) services. A Call for Papers segment brings insights from industry and academia on IT and OT environments.
ITSEC is also hosting a Capture the Flag (CTF) Competition, challenging participants with real-world cybersecurity scenarios while offering recognition and networking opportunities.
By convening stakeholders across sectors, the Cybersecurity Summit 2025 reflects ITSEC Asia’s mission to establish Indonesia as a regional hub for cybersecurity excellence. The event is expected to spark strategic dialogue and partnerships that enhance digital trust and safeguard Southeast Asia’s fast-growing digital economy, projected to reach up to $1 trillion in gross merchandise value by 2030.
