ICDX Notional Value Hits $733.3 Billion in Q1, Up 96%
Jakarta. The Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (ICDX) recorded a notional transaction value—representing the total underlying value of contracts traded—of Rp12,477 trillion ($733 billion) in the first quarter of 2026, marking a sharp 96% increase from Rp6,360 trillion ($373.7 billion) in the same period last year.
“The first-quarter transaction performance marks a strong start for the commodity futures trading industry in 2026. This shows that the ecosystem continues to gain public trust as an alternative investment,” ICDX Director Nursalam said in a statement on Thursday.
In terms of volume, total transactions reached 2,610,010 lots between January and March 2026, up 19% from 2,435,491 lots in the same period of 2025.
Multilateral transactions recorded a 13% increase in volume, rising to 460,402 lots in Q1 2026 from 408,076 lots a year earlier. Meanwhile, the notional value of multilateral transactions surged 233% to Rp110.5 trillion ($6.4 billion), compared with Rp33.1 trillion ($1.9 billion) in the same period last year.
Transactions through the Alternative Trading System also showed growth, with volume increasing 6% to 2,149,608 lots from 2,027,415 lots in Q1 2025. The notional value of these transactions reached Rp12,366 trillion, up 95% from Rp6,327 trillion a year earlier.
Nursalam added that ICDX, as the exchange operator, remains committed to strengthening the performance of Indonesia’s commodity futures trading industry.
“Based on the first-quarter performance, we expect the growth trend to continue throughout the year. We are optimistic that by the end of 2026, transactions will grow by around 20% compared with 2025,” he said.
For reference, total transaction volume at ICDX in 2025 reached 10,334,487 lots, with a notional value of Rp31,900 trillion. Of this, multilateral transactions accounted for 2,350,664 lots with a notional value of Rp427.5 trillion, while Alternative Trading System transactions reached 7,983,823 lots with a notional value of Rp31,500 trillion.
Currently, ICDX offers three main underlying commodities for multilateral futures contracts: gold, foreign exchange, and crude oil.
