Ebiet G Ade, Rony Parulian Wrap Up 2025 Festival Teman Kota
Jakarta. Legendary Indonesian musician Ebiet G Ade and young pop singer Rony Parulian teamed up to wrap up the 2025 Festival Teman Kota over the weekend.
These two musicians started out by singing their respective songs. They later performed a duet of “Berita Kepada Kawan” (‘News to a Friend’), which Ebiet wrote back in 1979. The duet shows two different generations how the social messages in Ebiet’s songs remain relevant in today’s era. And it is now up to young artists like the 24-year-old Rony to share the message. The festival took place in Blok M’s popular hangout spot Taman Literasi Martha Tiahahu. The crowd, which mainly consisted of Gen Zs, was singing along throughout the show.
Sisiplus by Katadata’s director Marah Andikha said that Festival Teman Kota was not simply an entertainment. However, it provides space for reflection and intergenerational connection. Through Konser Dua Generasi, Katadata wishes to show that arts can be a bridge for collaboration.
“We need to promote intergenerational collaboration, not just in music, but all aspects of life. Ebiet, who represents the generation of legends, teams up with Rony -- a representative of today’s generation,” Marah said.
Sisiplus by Katadata seeks to enrich cross-generational dialogue amidst the urban life.
