Jakarta. Chandra Asri Pacific — a Southeast Asia-based energy, chemical, and infrastructure solutions company — issued on Thursday a clarification on its force majeure notification.

Chandra Asri Pacific recently notified its customers of a force majeure as the Middle East conflict takes a toll on energy distribution routes and international supply chains. Strait of Hormuz closures also continue to spark uncertainties.

According to Chandra Asri, the force majeure is a preventive measure that must be taken administratively in accordance with contractual provisions, serving as a form of risk mitigation against potential losses. The notification also ensures transparency on what is happening outside the company’s control.

According to Chandra Asri Group Director of Human Resources & Corporate Affairs Suryandi, the force majeure notification is a common procedure in global business practices when there is a potential disruption, including international logistics routes.

“This step is taken as a form of transparency and to prevent significant losses to our business partners and stakeholders. The force majeure notification does not necessarily reflect a halt in the company’s operations, but rather forms part of our risk mitigation efforts in response to the evolving external situation,” said Suryandi.

To date, the company’s operational activities continue to run as normal. However, Chandra Asri will keep an eye on the global developments and conduct periodic evaluations of potential implications that could disrupt its operations, either directly or indirectly.

Chandra Asri is selectively adjusting its operational run rates in accordance with supply conditions and production needs. This measure is taken to maintain business continuity and ensure the stability of supply to customers.

The company maintains a risk management framework and operational planning system designed to respond adaptively to market dynamics. The efforts include diversifying sources of raw materials, maintaining prudent inventory management, and strengthening coordination across the supply chain to preserve operational flexibility.

Chandra Asri remains in close communication with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners to anticipate conditions that may affect the fulfillment of contractual obligations.
