BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Announces Partnership with Bank Danamon
Jakarta. Workers’ social security agency BPJS Ketenagakerjaan recently announced its partnership with Bank Danamon Indonesia to expand its fee payment channels.
This partnership also seeks to make it easier for workers to access their social security. BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s president director Anggoro Eko Cahyo alongside Bank Danamon Indonesia’s boss Daisuke Ejima signed the agreement at the latter’s office in Jakarta on Monday.
“Bank Danamon fully supports BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and the government’s efforts to expand its coverage to reach every level of the society,” Ejima was quoted as saying in a recent press statement.
Anggoro later thanked Danamon for including a variety of features that can easily be accessed by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants, enabling them to pay the fees on time. “We should start with the claim and fee payments, but I think there are so many things that we can work on together in the future. The more stakeholders that we work with, the more workers will get protected,” Anggoro said.
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to date has served 40 million workers, while 60 million others --many of whom are informal workers-- are still unprotected. Those who do not get protected by social security tend to struggle with paying the fees, thus prompting BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to provide easy-to-access payment channels.
Informal workers as well as non-wage earners can make their payments on their phone via the D-Bank PRO app. Non-wage earners can also make use of the payment point online banking channels that have formed partnerships with Danamon. Employers can use Danamon Cash Connect which is available online at all times, according to Anggoro.
Those who do not have accounts at the state-owned banks can make their BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Payments via Bank Danamon using the clearing transfer and real-time gross settlement facilities.
A channel dedicated to Indonesian migrant workers to make their BPJS Ketenagakerjaan payments will soon open. These workers can also pay their fees via Danamon.
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s finance director Asep Rahmat Suwandha said: “The 2015 government regulation and the 2021 manpower ministry regulation state that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan shall give additional benefits in the form of housing financing facility who are participants of our retirement savings program. I hope Danamon can team up with us to optimize those facilities.”
