Blitar Promises Easier Licensing for Investors
Jakarta. Blitar Regency, which lies in East Java, has vowed to provide easier licensing for investors, including businesses in tourist destinations.
The regency government has rolled out BOSSku Traveling (Blitar Online Single Submission) as well as the BOSSku Berkah in Pendopo Ronggo Hadinegoro. These platforms have issued 152 business identification numbers. About 350 people also have access to free healthcare, according to the government’s press release.
Blitar’s Investment Agency head Puguh Imam Susanto said the ease of business licensing for micro and small businesses was at the behest of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo. When launching the online single submission risk-based approach in Aug. 2021, Jokowi said the ease of business should not only be limited to simplifying the procedures. However, it should also expand the access to the people.
“For that reason, we need to continue to improve things and make innovations to provide easier business licensing for the people,” Puguh said.
According to Puguh, BOSSku Traveling and BOSSku Berkah aim to promote business licensing, and enhance the product’s quality, capital, and marketing, while also improving the health quality of the entrepreneurs and people around the tourist destination.
The Blitar government is also taking part in Bank Indonesia’s East Java Investment Challenge. Blitar also secured the title for having one of the top 10 investment projects in East Java through the development of the intermediate chocolate processing industry that sits atop a 2-hectare land in Kademangan.
“We will try our best to attract as many investors to Blitar as a stimulus to develop the existing potential. It is impossible for us to solely rely on the sub-national budget,” Puguh said.
Blitar regent Rini Syarifah said that all of the said efforts showed how the government tried to bring gains for businesses, people, and the tourism sector.
“We need to continue to improve the business licensing for our people, including investors. Our region holds immense potential,” Rini said while adding that everyone in Blitar should work to make sure that the regency maintains its healthy investment climate.
