Bakti Barito Foundation, STiR Education Partner to Train Teachers in Garut
Jakarta. Bakti Barito Foundation and STiR Education recently announced a significant expansion of their teacher training program to the West Java regency of Garut.
The program aims to enhance educational outcomes by fostering intrinsic motivation among educators and school leaders.
This collaboration comes after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Garut Department of Education and Bakti Barito Foundation.
The program will empower teachers, school principals, and supervisors across primary schools throughout the regency. A key focus is on strengthening instructional leadership among school supervisors and principals, helping to build sustainable professional learning communities for teachers, locally known as Komunitas Belajar.
STiR Education’s unique approach is designed to ignite a passion for teaching and learning, which in turn will improve student learning outcomes and elevate the overall quality of education in the region. This expansion aligns with the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka (Emancipated Curriculum), Indonesia’s national curriculum formally adopted in March 2024.
By providing school supervisors and principals with critical classroom-based support, the program will play a vital role in ensuring the curriculum’s success.
This collaboration will take place over two years and is part of a broader commitment by both organizations to uplift education standards in Indonesia.
“We are excited to work together with STiR Education in expanding this program to Garut Regency,” Bakti Barito Foundation Director Dian A Purbasari said.
“Our shared vision is to empower teachers and provide them with the tools and support they need to succeed, which will ultimately benefit students and communities.”
Yoni Nurdiansyah, Executive Director of Bakti Barito-STiR Programme Indonesia, added: “This partnership reflects our commitment to igniting the intrinsic motivation of teachers, and we look forward to making a meaningful impact on the educational landscape in Garut.”
