AQUA Cube Wins Award as Company Marks Golden Jubilee
Jakarta. Danone-AQUA last Wednesday won a trophy at the 2023 Indonesia Green Awards hosted by La Tofi School of Social Responsibility, just a day before the bottled water producer AQUA celebrated its golden jubilee on Feb. 23.
The food giant won the 2023 Best Green Program award, which recognizes AQUA Cube. As the name suggests, the water comes in pocket-sized, cube-shaped bottles that are labelless and strawless, and are also 100-percent recyclable.
“The AQUA cube innovations began in 2021, and were put on the market in April 2021. AQUA Cube’s packaging is incredibly thin, but is sturdy and secure, making it an environment-friendly product,” Steve Girindra Supangkat, the senior packaging development manager at Danone-AQUA, was quoted as saying in a recent press statement.
The bottle’s design makes it easy to carry around and can be consumed in one drink, Steve said.
“We congratulate Danone-AQUA who are consistent in coming up with environmental initiatives,” La Tofi, the chairman of La Tofi School of Social Responsibility, said.
According to Arif Mujahidin, the communications director at Danone Indonesia, AQUA Cube illustrates the company’s “commitment to provide environmentally-friendly products with high quality water.”
“AQUA draws its water from selected water reserves with three protection: 1) protecting the ecosystem of its water reserve; 2) safeguarding the purity of its minerals; 3) meticulously processed to protect its originality until it reaches the customer’s hands,” Arif said.
Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said that safeguarding the environment calls for hard work.
“We have to continue to work hard, work smart, work thoroughly, and work sincerely for a cleaner environment. We have to act fast, collaborate, and seize all existing opportunities,” said Sandiaga, who also won the Best Minister in Nature Conservancy Tourism award.
