Pekanbaru. Oil and gas operator APG Westkampar Indonesia (APGWI) has recorded its highest production level since assuming management of the West Kampar Block, reaching 1,011 barrels per day (bpd) at the end of October 2025.

The milestone marks a major leap from the early reactivation period in 2023, when production levels ranged between 150–200 bpd.

“This achievement is the result of the hard work of our field teams and the continuous support from all stakeholders. We remain committed to managing the West Kampar Block efficiently and sustainably,” said APGWI General Manager Mohammad Yasin on Sunday.

The significant production increase was driven by APGWI’s production enhancement strategy, which includes the drilling of new wells. By the end of October 2025, the company had completed five new wells, all of which have delivered strong and productive results.

Yasin acknowledged that operations initially faced serious challenges due to the remote location of production sites and difficult transportation routes, with crude oil transported by truck through rugged terrain.

“Over time, we managed to overcome those logistical challenges. Today, we’re grateful to be producing more than 1,000 barrels per day,” he added.

APGWI Director Adi Prasetyana also expressed appreciation for the company’s strong operational momentum.

“We’re optimistic that production will continue to increase, especially with our intensive drilling program running through 2025 and into late 2026,” Adi said.

In addition to drilling activities, APGWI continues to maintain and modernize production facilities, apply efficient technologies, and strengthen human resource competencies to ensure sustainable and safe operations.

Heru Setyadi, Head of Communications at SKK Migas (Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas regulator), praised APGWI’s performance as a reflection of the spirit and contribution of Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) toward national production goals.

“We appreciate the innovation and collaboration from all field teams committed to delivering positive results. SKK Migas will continue to provide guidance and ensure that operations remain safe, efficient, and beneficial for local communities,” Heru said.

He added that SKK Migas will keep encouraging partner companies to intensify exploration and production efforts to strengthen national energy resilience, in line with the Asta Cita vision of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming.
