Bogor. Following an extensive search operation, a joint search and rescue (SAR) team successfully located the 13 hikers who were reported missing on Mount Pangrango in Bogor, West Java, on Monday.

Wahyu Suwignyo, the commander of the SAR team, said that the 13 individuals, previously declared missing, had been found in a weakened condition, with two of them sustaining sprained injuries.

Wahyu said that the Mount Pangrango hikers were participants in a pilgrimage activity.

"Information from our survivors confirms that all have been found and are currently descending," Wahyu said on Monday.

The 13 Mount Pangrango hikers were reported missing in the early morning of Sunday. This group of pilgrims had commenced their ascent from an alternative route in Cibedug Kulah Village, Cibedug Subdistrict, Ciawi District, Bogor Regency, on Saturday afternoon.

By Sunday morning, the group had split into two, and both factions lost their way during the climb. The challenging terrain has made it difficult to ascertain their current whereabouts.
