Prabowo Shakes Up Cabinet Again, Full List of Appointments Released
Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto reshuffled his cabinet for the second time this month, appointing new ministers and senior officials on Wednesday as he consolidates his administration one year into office.
The changes included the return of Erick Thohir, who was dismissed earlier in the day as state-owned enterprises minister before being reappointed as youth and sports minister, replacing Dito Ariotedjo. Following his removal, the state-owned enterprises ministry is left without a minister as it balances its role alongside sovereign wealth fund Danantara, which currently oversees SOE assets
Prabowo also named retired army general Djamari Chaniago as chief political and security affairs minister, filling the post left vacant after Budi Gunawan was dismissed in a previous reshuffle earlier this month.
Several deputy ministerial positions were also overhauled. Afriansyah Noor was appointed deputy manpower minister, succeeding Immanuel Ebenezer, who was arrested last month by the Corruption Eradication Commission. Rachmat Mazuki replaced Sulaiman Umar as deputy forestry minister.
The reshuffle extended into the presidential staff office. Head of the Presidential Staff Office A.M. Putranto was dismissed and replaced by political analyst M. Qodari, while Presidential Communications Office head Hasan Nasbi was replaced by Angga Raka Prabowo.
Other appointments included Ahmad Dofiri as presidential adviser on security and police reform, Sarah Sadiqa as head of the National Procurement Agency (LKPP), and Nanik Sudayanti and Sonny Sanjaya as deputies for the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The latter will oversee Prabowo’s flagship Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, which aims to provide daily meals to 80 million children and expectant mothers.
This marks Prabowo’s third major cabinet shake-up since taking office last year. Earlier this month, he replaced Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati with former deposit insurance agency chief Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, dismissed Budi Gunawan from the chief security affairs minister position, and removed Ariotedjo from the sports ministry. He also created a dedicated Hajj Ministry to oversee the pilgrimage, naming Mochamad Irfan Yusuf as minister and Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak as deputy.
