Jokowi Dispatches Indonesia's Aid to Sudan and Palestine
Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo officially dispatched Indonesia's aid for Sudan and Palestine at the Indonesian Air Force Base, Halim Perdana Kusuma, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
During the event, Jokowi reaffirmed the Indonesian government's commitment to maintaining world peace and actively participating in humanitarian missions, both in conflict resolution and natural disaster relief efforts.
"We are deeply concerned about the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the internal conflict in Sudan, which has resulted in numerous casualties," said Jokowi in his remarks.
The Indonesian government, according to Jokowi, once again sent humanitarian aid amounting to Rp 30 billion ($1.88 million), comprising medicines and medical equipment.
"The value of the aid sent today is approximately Rp 30 billion, including medicines, medical equipment, and other assistance tailored to the needs on the ground as requested by the Governments of Egypt and Sudan," he explained.
Jokowi elaborated that the delivery of this aid was led by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), which would deliver it directly to Egypt.
The President expressed hope that the humanitarian aid would provide some relief to the people of Sudan and Gaza, Palestine.
