The two influencers are identified as Chandrika Chika and Monica Muller. Alongside them, an e-sports athlete identified as HJ, allegedly Herli Juliansah, also known as Aura Jeixy, was apprehended.
Chandrika has 2 million followers on Instagram, while Monica has 186,000 followers. Meanwhile, Herli is a PUBG Mobile e-sports athlete who has previously been associated with the EVOS Esports and Aura Esports clubs.
Police also arrested three other individuals identified as AT, a 22-year-old woman, AMO, a 22-year-old man, and BB, a 25-year-old man.
According to the South Jakarta Police Chief Ade Rahmat Idnal on Wednesday, evidence seized included an electronic cigarette containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is a liquid form of marijuana, often used in electronic cigarettes or vaping devices.
The police also conducted urine tests, and the results revealed that all of them tested positive for THC and methamphetamine.
They have been declared suspects and charged under Article 127 of the Narcotics Law, which carries a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment.
Police are now searching for the supplier of the electronic cigarettes containing THC.
"The electronic cigarettes containing THC belong to the suspect with the initials AT. She obtained it from someone known by the initial R," said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Narcotics Detective Unit Head Rezka Anugras in Jakarta on Tuesday evening.
He also emphasized that the use of marijuana through electronic cigarettes is a new trend. Rezka stated that they will increase vigilance against this new modus operandi of drug abuse.
