Medan. Three persons working at the official residence of Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution have been alleged of involvement in a recent theft at the home, police said on Saturday.

The three individuals have been arrested and are being interrogated for their alleged role in the incident that took place on April 26.

Medan Metropolitan Police spokesman Nizar Nasution said that the group allegedly had stoled basic commodities worth less than $200 from the house, dispelling social media rumors that billions of rupiah in banknotes were taken.

The suspects have been identified as EN, a female cook at the residence; AS, a member of the municipal police (Satpol PP) assigned to guard the house; and AD, whose role has not been disclosed.

"We have arrested three persons in connection with the theft and they are being interrogated at the Medan Metropolitan Police headquarters,” Nizar said.
