Jakarta. Grace Natalie confirmed on Wednesday that she has been excluded from the leadership board of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) following her appointment as commissioner of MIND ID, a consortium of state-owned mining companies.

Grace is the founder and former chairwoman of PSI, which narrowly missed the parliamentary threshold by less than 1 percentage point in the last election.

The party is now chaired by Kaesang Pangarep, the youngest son of President Joko Widodo.

"I’m no longer in the [PSI leadership] structure," Grace told reporters in Jakarta.

Prior to her MIND ID appointment, Grace chaired the Advisory Council of PSI.

Last month, Grace was appointed by the president as his special staffer to carry out “special assignments” from the president’s office.

Government regulations prohibit political party executives from holding key positions in state-owned companies.
