The victim, identified by his initials ADP, a junior diplomat, was found dead in his room on Jalan Gondangdia Kecil, Menteng, around midday. Police said his body was lying on the bed with his face covered in duct tape.

Officers arrived at the scene along with several Foreign Ministry staff after receiving a report about a man found dead in his room. Upon inspection, Arya was found unresponsive and declared dead at the scene.
