Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Police are currently investigating an embezzlement case involving Tiko Aryawardhana, the husband of renowned singer Bunga Citra Lestari. The case, which involves allegations of misappropriation of funds amounting to Rp 6.9 billion ($423,500), has been ongoing since July 23, 2022.

South Jakarta Police’s Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Bintoro, stated that Tiko is still considered a witness at this stage of the investigation. “Five witnesses have been questioned. Tiko is still a witness,” Bintoro confirmed.

The complaint against Tiko was filed by his former wife, Arina Winarto, who accused him of embezzlement related to his role in the food and beverage company Arjuna Advaya Sanjaya. Arina, who was the chief commissioner and sole funder of the company, reported discrepancies in the company's financial reports during its operation from 2015 to 2021.

Leo Siregar, Arina’s attorney, explained that Tiko was given full authority to manage the company and its finances as the director. However, in 2021, Arina found conflicting financial reports which led her to suspect data manipulation.

“Our client hired independent auditors to investigate and they discovered fraudulent spending amounting to Rp 6.9 billion,” Leo said.

The complaint was officially filed on July 23, 2022, accusing Tiko of “embezzlement by misusing authority,” a year after their divorce.

The case continues to unfold as the police gather more evidence and testimonies from those involved.
