Jakarta. Indonesian pop star Raisa Andriana and her Australian husband Hamish Daud confirmed on Sunday that they are ending their eight-year marriage, describing the decision as a mutual and carefully considered one.

In a joint statement shared on their respective Instagram accounts, the couple said the decision to separate was made together after long deliberation.

“After much thought and consideration, we have chosen to take our own paths. This decision was made together,” the statement read.

“We have gone through this process privately for some time before the news reached all of you,” they added.

Both Raisa and Hamish stressed that they remain on good terms and will continue to co-parent their daughter --  a rare tone in Indonesia’s entertainment industry, where celebrity breakups often spark intense public scrutiny.

“What will not change is our love for Zalina. It is our lifelong duty to care for and nurture her together, ensuring she grows up in a loving environment,” they said.

The couple also appealed for privacy as they navigate the divorce process, citing the need to protect their child’s well-being.

Court records show that Raisa filed for divorce at the South Jakarta Religious Court on October 22, with the first hearing scheduled for November 3.

“This divorce does not mean we gave up,” the statement continued. “We tried our best to understand and meet each other’s needs, but ultimately decided to part ways with mutual respect.”

Raisa, 35, is one of Indonesia’s most celebrated singers and songwriters, known for her soulful vocals and elegant stage presence. She first rose to fame with the 2011 hit “Serba Salah” (“Everything Goes Wrong”) and has since released several acclaimed albums. Her career highlights include performing alongside legendary composer David Foster in Jakarta and recording the Indonesian version of “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” for Disney’s Cinderella.

Hamish, 45, an Australian citizen who grew up in Bali, is a well-known actor and former television presenter fluent in Indonesian. He gained recognition for hosting travel programs on Trans TV before moving into film. The couple reportedly met through the movie Terjebak Nostalgia (“Trapped in Nostalgia”), in which Hamish starred and Raisa provided the soundtrack.
