Nusantara Capital Authority Launches Eco Traveller: Eco-Friendly and Educational Tourism Program
Nusantara. The Nusantara Capital Authority is currently hosting the "Eco Travellers 2025" program, an eco-tourism initiative inviting the public to explore the Nusantara area in an environmentally friendly way, by walking with a tour guide.
This program is open to the public and runs for a full month, held every weekend.
Myrna Asnawati Safitri, Deputy for Environment and Natural Resources at the Nusantara Authority, explained that Eco Travellers is a nature-based tourism activity in the Nusantara area that emphasizes sustainability principles. Activities offered include trekking through well-preserved tropical forests, cycling along organized green paths, and direct observation of the region’s biodiversity.
Participants can also take part in community-led conservation efforts, such as tree planting and protecting endangered species. Thus, the program is not merely recreational but also serves as an educational experience and a real contribution to environmental preservation.
“This concept isn’t just about sightseeing or taking selfies, but about immersing oneself in sustainable tourism. We want visitors to have a meaningful experience while gaining a deeper understanding of the environmental values applied in Nusantara,” she said on Saturday.
The tour route covers approximately 5 kilometers, with participants provided with eco-friendly shuttle transportation. Along the journey, guides will explain various aspects of Nusantara’s sustainable development -- from renewable energy use and waste management to the city’s extensive green spaces and public parks.
Visitors will also enjoy a variety of captivating sights, from futuristic architecture and hidden locations not yet widely known, to Instagrammable spots scattered throughout this smart city.
Through this program, the public is invited to experience firsthand the spirit of sustainable development that forms the foundation of Nusantara as the city of the future.
Registration for Eco Travellers 2025 opened on June 28 and will close on July 28. Participation is completely free of charge and open to everyone, individuals, families, communities, companies, schools, and friend groups.
To participate, registrants must meet a few requirements: bring their own tumbler and umbrella, be ready to create digital content during the activity, and choose one of three available routes: Harmony of Nusantara, Sustainable Nusantara, or Nusantara Steps.
“This program is a golden opportunity to be part of IKN’s historical journey while contributing to the realization of a green city of the future. Let’s register through the link on the official IKN Authority social media channels,” Myrna concluded.
