Bandung. The largest forest orchestra concert in Indonesia, Forestra, is set to take place at Orchid Forest Cikole, Lembang in Bandung, West Java, on August 31.

This year’s event will feature collaborations between the Erwin Gutawa Orchestra and artists such as Efek Rumah Kaca, Nadin Amizah, Scaller, Isyana Sarasvati, and Diskoria.

“Forestra is not just a music performance but an effort to connect music and nature, with orchestral instruments made from trees played by 40 of our orchestra members amidst the natural setting of Orchid Forest Cikole, in a beautiful collaboration with musicians from various genres,” said Forestra 2024 Music Director Erwin Gutawa on Thursday.

Erwin added that Forestra, the largest forest orchestra concert in Indonesia, has been held three times previously, and this year marks its fourth iteration, eagerly anticipated by orchestra music enthusiasts.

“Through Forestra 2024, we want to remind everyone that each moment at Forestra is more than just watching a show; it’s about experiencing profound moments with nature, far from the city's noise, offering something captivating for orchestra music lovers,” he added.

Cholil Mahmud of Efek Rumah Kaca, also present at the press conference, expressed his excitement about the upcoming concert.

“Forestra provides a space for musicians to express their love for nature. I am proud to be part of a performance that not only presents a grand orchestra but also features diverse music genres without harming the surrounding environment. We hope more visitors come to Forestra to appreciate the beauty of nature and be motivated to preserve it,” Cholil said.

Meanwhile, Barry Akbar, CEO of ABM by Barry Akbar, highlighted Forestra 2024 as an effort to raise environmental awareness and promote forest conservation to prevent wildfires through music.

“In this concert, we also aim to raise public awareness about environmental care and forest preservation to help combat wildfires through music. We are collaborating with Greenpeace and the Fire Prevention Team to make this message clear to the public,” Barry stated.

Tickets for Forestra 2024 are available in four categories: Harmoni Class at Rp. 199,000, Simfoni Class at Rp. 385,000, Simfoni 2 Class at Rp. 465,000, and Simfoni 3 Class at Rp. 575,000. Ticket information can be found on the official website, forestra.id.

According to the organizers, only tickets for Simfoni 3 Class remain, as the other categories have sold out.
