Jakarta. The Public Works Ministry on Friday signed a 30-year partnership with PT eL Hotel Internasional to manage Wisma Werdhapura, a state-owned property located in Sanur, Bali. The agreement marks one of the longest public-private collaborations for the ministry in recent years.

The signing ceremony, held in Jakarta, was attended by Wida Nurfaida, Secretary General of the Public Works Ministry, and Intan Nurcahya, Director of PT eL Hotel Internasional.

Wida said the deal followed a lengthy and careful negotiation process, reflecting the need for prudence given the contract’s duration.

“We have finally reached the signing stage with PT eL Hotel Internasional. The process took time because of our prudence principle. With a 30-year contract, it was crucial to ensure the agreement is lawful, accountable, and based on sound governance,” Wida told B-Universe Media Holdings.

The partnership aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s broader vision of improving government efficiency while expanding opportunities for collaboration with the private sector, she added.

According to Wida, the arrangement is designed not only to maintain the productivity of state assets but also to generate additional non-tax revenue for the government.

“This collaboration ensures that assets already invested in by the state can contribute to non-tax state revenue (PNBP),” she said.

She added that involving private operators like eL Hotel will also reduce maintenance costs.

“Our calculations show it is more efficient when maintenance expenses are shared through cooperation with eL Hotel,” Wida concluded.

The partnership highlights Indonesia’s ongoing push to optimize state-owned assets through public-private cooperation, ensuring both revenue generation and long-term asset sustainability.
