Prabowo’s Nephew Thomas Djiwandono Sworn in as Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor
Jakarta. The Supreme Court of Indonesia on Monday swore in Thomas Djiwandono, a nephew of President Prabowo Subianto, as Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia for the 2026–2031 term.
Thomas was formally appointed based on a presidential decree dated Feb. 3. He replaces Juda Agung, who has served since 2022 and is set to swap roles with Thomas as vice finance minister.
“I pledge that in carrying out this office, I will not directly or indirectly accept any promises in any form from anyone,” Thomas said as he took his oath before Chief Justice Sunarto.
“I also pledge to perform my duties and responsibilities as Bank Indonesia deputy governor to the best of my ability and with full accountability. I pledge loyalty to the state, the constitution, and the national direction,” he added.
Thomas secured the post after competing with two other candidates: Solikin Juhro, head of Bank Indonesia’s Macroprudential Policy Department, and Diky Kartikoyono, head of its Payment Systems Policy Department.
Before his appointment at the central bank, Thomas served as Indonesia’s vice finance minister from 2024 to 2026.
