Jakarta. Malaysia is making a strong showing at Construction Indonesia 2025, held from September 10–13, with 16 leading construction companies presenting innovative and sustainable solutions. The participation is organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the country’s national trade promotion agency.

Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, Syed Mohamad Hasrin Tengku Hussin, said the participation of Malaysian companies aims to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the construction sector.

“We hope that Malaysian products can also be utilized in Indonesia, allowing us to contribute to development here. This year, our focus is on supporting green initiatives and sustainability. Many of our construction products are made from natural, environmentally friendly materials, and we believe they can be well-received in the Indonesian market,” he said during the exhibition at the Jakarta International Expo on Wednesday.

Syed added that Malaysia’s construction solutions are well-suited to Indonesia, given that the two countries share similar environmental and climatic conditions.

“Some of these products are already being used in Malaysia and other international markets. Given the similarities between Malaysia and Indonesia, especially in terms of climate, we are confident these products will be highly relevant and effective here,” he noted.

Also present was Suresh Kumar R. Palasanthiran, Trade Commissioner of MATRADE Jakarta, who underscored Malaysia’s robust growth in the construction sector. The industry is projected to expand between 6 percent and 9.6 percent this year, with more than 1,000 active projects worth $13.3 billion currently underway. These projects primarily focus on national transportation, sustainable urban development, and green energy initiatives.

“Amid this rapid growth, we remain committed to collaborating with our Indonesian partners to build modern, sustainable cities and infrastructure for the future,” said Suresh.

At Construction Indonesia 2025, Malaysia is showcasing 16 organizations spanning diverse fields such as road infrastructure, landscaping, architectural services, urban forest design, and children’s playgrounds. The delegation includes 11 private companies, the National Landscape Department under MATRADE, three firms under SIRIM (Malaysia’s research and technology organization), and one privately participating independent company.
