KFC Indonesia Closes 20 Stores, Reports Rp239 Billion Net Loss
Jakarta. The operator of KFC Indonesia, PT Fast Food Indonesia (FAST), reported a net loss of Rp 239.5 billion ($14 million) for the first nine months of 2025, a sharp 57 percent improvement from the Rp 557 billion loss recorded a year earlier.
In a statement on Monday, the publicly listed company said its revenue fell slightly by 0.76 percent year-on-year to Rp 3.56 trillion, compared with Rp 3.59 trillion in the same period last year.
During the January–September 2025 period, FAST closed 20 KFC outlets, bringing its total restaurant count to 695 as of September 30, down from 715 outlets at the end of 2024.
The store closures led to workforce reductions, with 1,041 employees laid off over the same period. As of September 30, FAST employed 12,065 workers, down from 13,106 employees at the end of last year.
The company, which holds the exclusive franchise for KFC in Indonesia, has faced ongoing challenges from slower consumer spending and rising operational costs, though its loss reduction suggests that gradual recovery efforts are starting to take effect.
