Indonesian Crypto Exchange Triv Secures $200M Investment from MEXC Ventures
Jakarta. Indonesian crypto exchange platform Triv has secured a $200 million (Rp 3.28 trillion) investment from MEXC Ventures, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory.
Triv CEO and Founder Gabriel Rey announced the deal during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, describing it as a transformative step in Triv’s mission to become Indonesia’s leading crypto exchange.
“We’re proud to welcome MEXC Ventures into the Triv Group,” Gabriel said. “This partnership will not only expand the range of available crypto assets and boost platform liquidity, but also enable us to launch more innovative products for both new and existing users.”
As part of its broader ecosystem, Triv also plans to strengthen CryptoWave Media, its crypto-focused news outlet, positioning it as Indonesia’s leading digital asset media platform.
Currently, Triv offers trading access to over 1,000 crypto assets, making it one of the country’s most comprehensive platforms. With the new funding, Gabriel hinted at the upcoming launch of new tokens, products, and co-branded campaigns with MEXC Ventures.
Leo Zhao, Investment Director at MEXC Ventures, said the company sees significant potential in Indonesia’s rapidly growing digital asset market.
“Indonesia is one of the most dynamic and promising crypto markets in Southeast Asia,” Zhao said. “Triv has proven to be a regulated, secure, and trusted platform. We are excited to support its next phase of growth.”
According to Indonesia’s Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti), the value of crypto trading in Indonesia surged 335.9 percent year-on-year in 2024, reaching Rp 650.61 trillion, up from Rp 149.25 trillion ($9.2 billion) in 2023. Indonesia now has more than 22 million registered cryptocurrency users.
