Gold Prices Slip as Strong US Jobs Data Dampens Rate-Cut Hopes
Jakarta. Antam’s gold prices fell on Friday as stronger-than-expected US labor data dimmed prospects of a December rate cut, pressuring global bullion sentiment.
Antam’s benchmark gold price dropped Rp 16,000 to Rp 2.35 million ($140.49) per gram, according to Logam Mulia data.
The buyback price also eased by Rp 16,000 to Rp 2.21 million per gram.
The metal was last near its all-time high of Rp 2.49 million per gram, set on Oct. 21.

Global gold prices weakened on Thursday after US September nonfarm payrolls rose 119,000, more than double market expectations of 50,000. The report, delayed due to the government shutdown, reduced the odds of a December policy cut, dragging down demand for the non-yielding asset.
According to goldprice.org, the price of gold is $4,050.93 per ounce, dropped 30.90 points or 0.76 percent as of Nov. 20, 2025, at 10:30 p.m. New York time.
Markets now see roughly a 40 percent chance of a rate reduction next month. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics will publish a combined October–November jobs report on Dec. 16, following the Fed’s upcoming policy meeting.
Minutes from the Fed’s October meeting showed policymakers moved ahead with a rate cut despite concerns over inflation risks and public confidence.
Gold has risen 55 percent year-to-date and hit a record $4,381.22 on Oct. 20.
