Internationally, gold prices extended their rally on Tuesday, reflecting continued inflows into safe-haven assets amid rising global uncertainty and strained United States international relations. According to goldprice.org, spot gold jumped 1.8% to $5,078.57 per troy ounce as of Jan. 26 at 11:03 p.m. New York time. Prices later stood at $5,069.71 per ounce, up 1.24%, after hitting a fresh record high of $5,111.11 per ounce on Monday.
Analyst Andy Nugraha of Dupoin Futures said gold’s technical outlook remained very strong, with candlestick patterns and moving averages reinforcing the bullish trend. “Gold prices are holding steadily above key moving averages, indicating buyers remain firmly in control despite rising volatility around record highs,” he wrote in a Tuesday research note.
Andy said as long as prices stay above the psychological support of $5,000 per ounce, the bias remains upward, with potential to extend gains toward $5,150 per ounce. However, he cautioned that overbought conditions could trigger profit-taking, with a near-term correction possibly testing support around $4,990 per ounce.
